Having received the consent of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Cardinal Grand Master Edwin O'Brien has appointed Msgr. Giuseppe Lazzarotto as the new Assessor of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
Ambassador Leonardo Visconti di Modrone, Governor General announces the appointment and adds: “We are happy to convey to Msgr. Lazzarotto our best congratulations about this new task with which he will continue the work of his illustrious predecessor, Msgr. Antonio Franco, for the benefit of the Order and of the Holy Land.”
Msgr. Lazzarotto served for five years as Apostolic Delegate to Jerusalem and Palestine and Apostolic Nuncio to Israel, ending his mandate at the end of August 2017.
